Description

Graduate Outdoor Adventures: Canoeing Trip

Saturday, Oct. 26, 2019, 7:30am-4:00pm
Meet at Skyline Fitness Center 30 minutes prior to event begin time.

Come see the world from a different perspective out on the water. Join us for a day of canoeing on a local river. We frequently see Bald Eagles and lots of other wildlife. This is a great introduction to some of the beautiful paddling in our region. Depending on water levels and weather we will paddle either on the Shenandoah River or the Occoquan River.

What to wear: weather appropriate clothing that you don’t mind getting wet. Secure footwear: sneakers, water shoes, or sandals with heel straps are fine. Flip flops/thongs are not acceptable

What to bring: a daypack containing ID, 2 water bottles, lunch, sunscreen, rain jacket and any other layers you might need

When/Where: Meet at Skyline Fitness Center on the Fairfax Campus at 7:30am.

Due to limited capacity and expected demand, we ask that you register for the event only if you are sure that you will be able to attend and participate.

Cancellation and Waitlist Policy: To accommodate as many interested Mason graduate students as possible, a waitlist will begin once a trip fills. If a registered student cancels their registration by 5:00pm on the Wednesday before the event, their space will be offered to the next student(s) on the waitlist.

Any students canceling their registration with less than 72 hours notice will not be eligible to participate in future Graduate Outdoor Adventure trips during the 2019-20 year.

Registration begins October 1 and closes October 11 at noon. There are limited spaces on this trip.
